Three seriously injured in M4 crash
According to first responders, the circumstances leading up to the crash involving the vehicles could not be confirmed.
THREE people were seriously injured in a crash on the M4 Ruth First Highway on Wednesday evening (August 26).
The accident occurred between La Lucia and uMhlanga involving two vehicles in the northbound lane.
“Emergency teams were met with absolute carnage, with both vehicles having sustained significant damage. Patients from both vehicles were assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries,” explained Gareth Naidoo, spokesperson for KZN VIP Emergency Services.

“The injured were stabilised on scene before being transported to appropriate medical facilities for the further emergency care they required.”
According to incident reports, one of those injured was assisted by a member of the public as they were found in the bushes along the M4.
Naidoo added the road was obstructed for a period of time while emergency personnel worked on scene.
The circumstances leading up to the crash cannot be confirmed at this stage.
