Lace up for Durban Sunrise Run

The race offers 21.1km, 42.2km and 10km routes showcasing the city's iconic beachfront and the streets of Durban North.

DURBAN never has a shortage of running events for those looking to break records, keep fit or enjoy a social run.

With that in mind locals can now look forward to the upcoming Pick n Pay Durban Sunrise Run which takes place on September 26.

The race offers 21.1km, 42.2km and 10km routes showcasing the city’s iconic beachfront, the Umgeni River precinct and the leafy streets of Durban North.

Coming off the back of the recent announcement about 28 000 entries being opened for the 2027 Comrades Marathon, the Sunrise Run provides hopefuls with the perfect opportunity to get an early qualifying time in the bank.

The races begin at the Durban Promenade Amphitheatre, with participants setting off north along the promenade.

The route has been designed to combine Durban’s natural beauty with a fast, flowing road course and also includes the city’s iconic beachfront, the Umgeni River precinct and a fast, accessible course through Durban’s northern suburbs.

The first 2000 entries into the event will receive a Pick ‘n Pay goodie bag and a pair of Custom Race SOX.

Entries are open and available on multiple platforms including entry.bactive.com/ and www.webtickets.co.za as well as at Pick ‘n Pay stores.
