Local schools set to battle it out for Fast 5s title
Danville and Our Lady of Fatima will be flying the flag at this weekend's SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball Challenge.
DANVILLE Park Girls’ High School will hope to repeat their victory from the final of last year’s Durban North Regional SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball Challenge.
The Durban North Regional unfolds at Ashton International College in Ballito on Saturday, September 12.
The tournament, now in its sixth year, has hosted 34 regionals in the five years since its inception in 2019.
While the competition features a number of schools on the KZN North Coast competing, Danville and Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School (DCS) will be the two schools representing Durban North.

The KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball Challenge travels to eight areas in KZN (KZN North Coast, Durban Central, South Coast, Durban North, Zululand, Southern KZN, Upper Highway, Northern KZN).
Three teams have been crowned in the Durban North Regional, with Danville’s name engraved on the trophy twice and they will be on the hunt for a third victory.
“SPAR KwaZulu-Natal is pleased to see how the Challenge has evolved over the years,” explained Nelene Rampersad, promotion, advertising and communications manager for SPAR KZN, sponsors of the tournament. “Our involvement goes beyond sponsorship; we believe in the power of sport to build confidence, discipline and creating a sense of belonging among young women and their peers.”
