NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION Proposed change to the Beier Industries Dangerous Goods Storage, Gillitts Road, Pinetown KwaZulu Natal Notice is hereby given in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2017) published in Government Notice 326, in accordance with S24(5) of the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) (as amended) that an application for an Environmental Authorisation will be lodged with the KZN Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs. Project details: Beier Industries is applying for Environmental Authorisation for the expansion of their volume of dangerous goods storage at 40 Gillitts Road, Pinetown (Rem of Erf 2808 Pinetown). They will increase the volume of storage of dangerous goods which are classified in terms of GHS from 79m3 to approximately 402m3. There will be no increase in capacity or production from the operations on site. The proposed activity triggers Activity No 51 of GNR 327 (increase in storage of a dangerous good by more than 803) and as such, requires an application subject to a Basic Assessment.
