Thanks, speed humps will be built

EDITOR - It seems as though our long, hard battle with the authorities to install traffic calming measures in Chartwell Drive has finally born fruit, with an indication that speed bumps will be installed before the middle of 2014.

This is indeed good news for all affected residents and ratepayers of Chartwell Drive who have had to put up with wild and highly dangerous driving in our street for a good few years now.

Sanity has prevailed! Although I personally am not a big fan of speed bumps, we were left will no alternative but to request them, in the interests of public safety.

May I take this opportunity, on behalf of all residents in Chartwell Drive, to thank you and your newspaper for your fantastic support during our struggle to get the Metro to listen and respond to our problems with speeding.

I think it goes to show what a fantastic and highly thought of newspaper the Northglen News is, because we would not have reached this result without your extremely professional assistance.

Once again, thank you very much for all your help!

Spike Farrell.
