Editor – I am a programmer at a company in La Lucia Ridge and I go to the gym in the same area everyday.
On Thursday, 13 November on my way to the gym, the roads were empty, and I was travelling at a sedately 60km over the Millennium Bridge, when a bronze coloured BMW M1 came past me at an incredible mind blowing speed, the motor screaming. But as the road converges into one lane, the driver nearly lost control as he attempted to correct his direction and break speed due to the upcoming circle. As luck would have it, there were cars in front of him and I was able to come up behind him and take pictures of his number plate.
He seemed to be going in the same direction as me, as I was behind him all the way to the entrance of Gateway. I was behind him as he entered Gateway, where he proceeded to floor the BMW once again with complete disregard for anyone inside the parking complex.
I heard the security shout ‘slow down’ to him. I saw him park at the covered parking, by the gym where I was going.
So, I got out of my car, and was really unsure if I wanted to engage with whom ever the driver was. The BMW had darkened windows so that it was impossible to see who the driver was but I walked over and asked the driver to wind down the window.
The driver then opened the door. I could see that the driver was a very young wealthy person. I tried to remain calm and explain to the gentleman that he had been driving recklessly fast.
The driver proceeded to tell me that I had no evidence and could not prove anything and then swore at me in a very aggressive and arrogant attitude, not taking any accountability.
I followed this arrogant youngster into the gym and asked him to turn around so that I could take a picture of him, which he would not do, so I managed to take a picture of him entering the gym. It is now with great difficulty that I am trying to lay a charge against this individual to prevent him from writing off himself and taking other innocent lives with him, as it is evident that he is not going to adjust his driving behaviour. The driver drives an orange bronze coloured BMW.
