‘Shame on you’

To the driver of the white car, shame on you for not stopping to help the cat that you hit.

Editor

ON Wednesday, 25 February in rush-hour morning traffic I witnessed a black male cat being run over by a driver in a white car on Northway, close to Oxford Street. The driver did not stop. The cat was still alive but badly injured so I stopped and picked him up and put him in my car.

I rushed him to the vet, but unfortunately he died. I just wanted to write this letter and hope it gets published so that the owner of the cat, who might be wondering where their beloved pet was, would know what happened. To me there can be nothing worse than have a pet disappear and never know what happened to it. And to the driver of the white car, shame on you for not stopping to help the cat that you hit.
