Umhlanga Learning Centre – tailored to suit students needs

Umhlanga Learning Centre (ULC) specialises in remediation, extension and educational assessments for individual and group tuitions in almost all subjects from grades 0-12. They also specialise in homeschooling for all grades. Their programmes are directly tailored to each student’s needs. Founded 29 years ago, the centre is currently situated in a spacious, conducive learning environment with optimum in-house facilities, in Bonville Park, Armstrong Avenue adjacent to the La Lucia Mall.

Their dedicated tutors are employed on a full-time basis and have no conflicting teaching commitments ensuring maximum zeal. Each tutor maintains a 100% pass-rate because of the freedom to teach to a student’s specific requirements within the framework of the recognised syllabus.

They cater for all academic subjects namely: Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Sciences, Geography, History, Information Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Life Orientation, Accounting, Business Studies, Business Economics, Economic Management Sciences, English, Afrikaans, isiZulu. They also host workshops in various subjects as well as NBT Training (National Benchmark Training) for Grade 12 learners.

All tuition programmes are in accordance with the appropriate DBE as well as IEB syllabus. Their lessons are traditionally 60 minutes each. Consistent concentration is key in this regard. Hence, the 60-minute period per lesson is deemed effective and sufficient.

Lessons are scheduled within the following time frames. Weekdays 08:00 – 20:30. Saturdays 08:00 – 18:00. With the exceptions of pre-exam conditions or other valid circumstances, times may be adjusted to meet the needs of the student’s schedule with the inclusion of Saturday evenings and Sundays. Scheduling lessons in advance is mandatory under these circumstances.
