New chapter for Grade 1s

MELVILLE – Grade 1s and parents embrace the first day of school at Melpark Primary School.

There was a combination of tears and big smiles when the Melpark Primary School Grade 1s attended their first day at school.

The little ones and their parents arrived at the school prepared and eager to embark on a new journey.

One parent, Robert Sibanyoni accompanied his daughter Olwethu Sibanyoni who was looking forward to her first day in Grade 1. He said he was very happy that it was his daughter’s first day of school and said they had travelled all the way from Lenasia.

“I heard that this is a good school and felt it important that she gets the best education. I believe she will learn many new things and benefit from her experience here. She is also looking forward to meeting her new classmates,” he said.

Olwethu said she was happy to start her first day at a new school and added bravely that she would not cry when her father left her.
