Bomb scare at Egoli Gas

COTTESLOE - Police are investigating the origin a bomb scare at the Egoli Gas complex.

Turns out it wasn’t a bomb.

The suspicious box that caused a panic at the Egoli Gas building in Cottesloe was completely empty, according to Brixton police’s Colonel Katlego Mogale.

Mogale said they received a call around 7am this morning, 11 February, to report a box that was suspected to contain a bomb.

The empty box caused quite a stir as a bomb squad and canine unit reported to the scene, with surrounding roads being closed off.

Roads have since been opened to traffic after the case was deemed a false alarm by the Brixton Police.
