Melo the Soul Sista records at SABC studios

AUCKLAND PARK - RBF Recording Studies help young artists develop their craft.

Motswako Soul artist Melo the SoulSista, is the latest in a string of young singers and musicians honing their skills at RBF Studios, SABC in Auckland Park.

After collaborating with a number of popular Motswako artists and award winning Hip Hop muso Cassper Nyovest (of Gusheshe fame), she is now taking her leap of faith as a solo artist.

Her single titled Thato is a glamorous township tale of love recorded at one of South Africa’s most advanced recording production facilities.

“The RBF studios are of the best in the country,” quipped Melo about laying down the track in Auckland Park. “They’re spacious and reasonably priced, and its great being in a studio that has the ability to record an entire band at the same time. It’s an amazing experience knowing that you’re recording something that your fans are going to listen to over and over again.”

Melo’s music is Motswako Soul – a combination of Setswana and English lyrical poetry on a soulful-jazzy melody. Her ability to play the piano adds a distinct touch to her craft.

Another title she is hoping to put under her belt is that of producer. Not only did Melo write her single Thato, she also musically directed her four piece band. In a male dominated music industry, she hopes to set a new trend and encourage female producers and musical directors.
