Motorists ignore traffic circles and humps

LINDEN - Traffic calming circles failed to calm this car down before it crashed through a fence into someone's property.

A Linden resident complained about the behaviour of motorists who do not respect the traffic circles and road humps in the area.

Gary Davies asked, “What is the point of traffic calming circles and speed humps if motorists choose, to blatantly, ignore them anyway?”.

Davies sent a message to the Northcliff Melville Times Facebook page, complaining about motorists who do not respect traffic calming circles and speed humps in the area. He said, “The motorist drove straight through a palisade fence into someone’s property.” According to him, an accident occurred at Linden’s 3rd Avenue on the corners of 2nd and 3rd street, where a motorists drove straight into the fence of a private property without slowing down.

Davies described the latest accident as “the almost regular carnage of crashes down 3rd Avenue”. He added that some Linden residents have gone as far as placing a pentagram on their fences to keep intruders away, but for this property, not even a traffic circle could help.
