Trolley man saves the day
MILPARK- Michael Moeketsi rescues a bleeding UJ student after a robbery attempt.

Ever feel like someone is watching you as you walk, but have no idea who?
This is the exact gut feeling that Masego Ramorwa (19) experienced on the fateful day in Milpark where a young male tried to rob her.
“I was coming out of varsity and had a feeling someone was behind me but I didn’t turn to look … some guy held my hand from behind and asked for my phone,” said Ramorwa.
This all took place as she tried to give an old street occupant a fruit.
The old man – scared for his life – could not bring himself to help the University of Johannesburg student.

The attacker pushed Ramorwa around, and as they began to wrestle they slid down the slippery slope they were next to.
“He started biting me and fighting with me, and all I could do was scream hoping that someone would help me,” explained a teary Ramorwa.
On this Friday the 13th – considered an unlucky day by the superstitious – Michael Moeketsi saved the day.
“I heard her scream and I initially thought they were dating and the guy was beating his girlfriend up,” explained Moeketsi.
“I told my friends it is unacceptable for a man to hit his woman, so I rushed to go and help,” he added.
As Moeketsi fast approached, the attacker ran for his life, leaving a bleeding and terrified Ramorwa lying on the ground.
“When I arrived I helped her [Ramorwa] up and ensured that she was safe,” concluded Moeketsi.
“I am so grateful to Michael for helping me because I could have been hurt even more than I was,” she said.
Moeketsi is a young man that survives by picking recyclable materials from the dust bins and sells them to a recycling station in Newtown.
