Decisive action foils criminals

GREYMONT - Quick and decisive action and crime prevention deserves a reward.

A police officer and two security guards from Bestsecure security were awarded certificates of appreciation by Brigadier Susan Pitout after decisive action taken in Greymont on 25 June.

Bestsecure’s Louis Grobler explained that someone in Tenth Street, Greymont had seen perpetrators entering a home across from hers and pressed her panic button. Bestsecure arrived on the premises in minutes, and the perpetrators were caught in the home red-handed.

A shot was fired and two arrests were made by Sophiatown police.

“The police is always appreciative of help in preventing crime,” Sophiatown police spokesperson Warrant officer TJ de Bruyn said on 2 July.

“We really appreciate Bestsecure’s help and their quick action.”
