JUMA race to cause road closures
JOBURG – Road closures are set to occur in a number of areas on 6 September due to the JUMA cycle race.
Motorists can expect road closures on 6 September as the Jozi Urban Mountain Bike Adventure (JUMA) weaves its way through Joburg. Although the majority of the race takes place off-road there are portions where riders will need to cross streets. These areas will be blocked off and opened again once the last rider has passed through.
Affected major roads will include Pretoria Street in Oaklands, Oxford Road in Houghton Estate and Main Road in Melville.
Areas affected by the closures will include Roosevelt Park, Albertskroon, Emmarentia, Melville, Albertville, Montgomery Park, East Town, Greymont, Riverclub, Duxberry, Morningside, Glen Atholl, Oaklands, Houghton Estate and Saxonwold. The road closures can be viewed on the JUMA website.

Roads in Emmarentia, Albertskroon and Roosevelt Park will also be affected on 5 September due to the Jozi Urban Run Adventure (JURA). These closures can also be viewed on either website as well as in the table below.
The courses have been set in partnership with the City of Johannesburg with the intention of minimizing impact on residents.
