De La Salle Holy Cross College in Victory Park donated about 25 tons of water to children in need in Aliwal North.
Diederick Stopforth from Skynet Worldwide Express went to the College on 26 January with an eight-ton truck to pick up water collected by the college. Stopforth loaded 8 000 litres of water to be taken to Holy Cross Primary School in Aliwal North. Stoprforth said that he would provide a truck to the college when needed to pick up more water.

To date, three trucks have left the College with over 15 tons of water, collected from the local community and participating schools. On 29 January a further 10.5 tons will be sent and 3 500 litres of packaged water will be sent directly from a donor.
Sister Bridget, the principal of the Holy Cross Primary School in Aliwal North, is distributing the water to pupils, their families, the old age homes and the community. “We are thrilled with the water. I have many sick pupils due to this water problem. There were many happy people that helped to unload the trucks,” said Sister Bridget.
There will be another truck leaving the college on 5 February, if anyone would like to drop off bottles of water or even empty containers.
