Culinary Delight

AUCKLANDPARK – UJ School of Tourism and Hospitality invite guests to a night full of mouth-watering splendour.

University of Johannesburg, School of Tourism and Hospitality (STH) hosted the year’s first night of fine dining and wine on 18 March.

The monthly evenings of culinary delight are in partnership with the Stellenbosch wine route. Each month the school has a different winemaker pair the gourmet food served with their wines. On this evening, the guests enjoyed wines from the Thelema Mountain Vineyards which was presented by winemaker Karen Green. All four of the courses served, showed off each wine to its best. The food was as great to devour as the wine was as glorious to savour.

The evening was an intimate affair that was attended by couples and families alike. The night was also hosted by the director of the school, Dr Diane Abrahams and the operational manager of the school, Ms Fatima Gaibee. With the event being situated in the romantically lit Waterford Restaurant based at the school, it was all well presented by the second year hospitality students.

Floor manager of the Kersner unit, Lwethu Ntlakane said that this is a great experience for the students. “The second-year students set everything up, all of their hard work gone into making this event, from table preparations to the food has been well planned,” said Ntlakane.
