Roosevelt High School makes it to the finish line with flying colours

ROOSEVELT – A hard-working high school celebrates a 100 per cent pass rate.

Matrics and teachers of Roosevelt High School enjoyed the fruits of their hard work.

They celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate after the National Senior Certificate results. Matriculants trickled in at the high school on 5 January to collect their results with family and friends.

The school’s principal Willie de Wet said this year’s pass rate was an indication of the hard work of the staff and matrics.

“We faced a number of challenges with some of the learners given their different backgrounds,” he said.

“Everyone worked hard as a team to ensure successful results by attending extra classes and teachers offering their time on weekends.”

He added that he had set a clear target for the matrics when they were in Grade 11 to ensure a 100 per cent pass rate.

Proud mother Shahnaaz Sallie said her daughter passed with two distinctions and achieved a bachelor’s pass.

“We also found out that she has been accepted for two courses at a university and we are so excited for her,” she said.

“I’m extremely proud of her, she’s worked very hard and I wish her all the best.”
