Injured patients decline ambulance transportation following two collisions on the N1

FAIRLAND – A second collision was witnessed by the Netcare 911 paramedics while attending to another collision on 28 July 2019. 


According to Shawn Herbst from the communications office of Netcare 911, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N1 Northbound near Beyers Naudé Drive in Fairland, Johannesburg at 9.20pm Sunday night.  

Herbst said that reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles were involved in a collision. “Medics assessed three patients who were found to be in a stable condition and declined ambulance transportation to the hospital. ”

Herbst added that while on the scene, a secondary collision on the Southbound lane of the N1 occurred where a vehicle towing a trailer had overturned.

“Medics assessed the scene and found two people in a stable condition who also declined ambulance transportation to the hospital, “Herbst concluded.
