Sparrow School’s staff and learners roll up their sleeves for Covid-19 vaccines.

Sparrow Schools Educational Trust has been committed to the safety and health of its learners and staff from the Covid-19 virus. According to the school’s spokesperson Lerato Dumse, 140 of their staff and interns have been vaccinated with only six staff members not being able to due to medical or other reasons.

Nearly all the school’s learners at the FET College in Sophiatown going into the workplace next year have been vaccinated. The school has also begun a campaign to educate and encourage parents and guardians of those 12 years and older to get their children vaccinated.

A statement shared with parents/guardians read, “Our staff have completed their vaccinations, improving safety for your children and now we are asking you to do your side. We want to inform you that free Covid-19 vaccines are currently available for everyone age 12 and older and we are encouraging all parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated.”

They also shared details on the vaccines, how it works and how to get children registered.
