New and more spaces for learning created

NORTHCLIFF – School's trust fund and budget allocation from the Department of Education will go a long way in creating more spaces for education at the school.

Upgrades currently taking place at the school to benefit present and future learners.

Northcliff Primary School has recently been accommodating construction teams as the school undergoes a couple of upgrades and new editions thanks to the school’s trust and the Gauteng Department of Education. Principal of Northcliff Primary School Debbie Smith shared that the school’s Foundation Phase is getting an additional block while the library is being renovated.

“The Library will be the hub of the school. A safe place for our learners to choose books, sit and read, join a reading club, play games in groups, build puzzles, complete homework and listen to stories. The new Foundation Phase section will allow each grade at the school to have five classes with a maximum of 28 learners per class. New modern building and brand new furniture.”

The work started yearly in the year and has been going smoothly with all of it expected to be completed by the end of this year and ready for usage by the time schools reopen. The school is grateful to the department for the funding as it will allow them to accept more learners entering the school from next year and years going forward.
Smith added, “The school, thanks to our trust fund, will get new furniture, smartboards and projectors, revamped playground and library.”

The school has also hosted several book drives to ensure their new library has an extensive collection of titles for their learners to pick from. The school is currently on track to ensure that they have modern, well-ventilated classrooms that their present and future learners can enjoy and enjoy a quiet, safe space that encourages reading in their new library.
