Lillian Gray Art School takes number spot at 11th National Eisteddfod Showcase Awards

The school was named number one within the Gauteng Western Region and they couldn't be more proud.

In a crescendo of colours and creativity, Lillian Gray Art School emerged as the number one art school in the Gauteng Western Region during the 11th National Eisteddfod Showcase Awards.

Held at Roodepoort Theatre over two days in October, this annual celebration of artistic prowess showcased the extraordinary talents of budding artists from various schools. There was a staggering 37 of their art students who received awards and the school was undoubtedly proud of each of them.

The artists successes are said to be a testament to their exceptional talent and dedication from not only them but also of our teachers. The winners were: item winners, medal winners and some were selected as ambassadors and reached the top 10.

For the Fairland-based organisation, being recognised to this level is not just a title, but rather a tribute to their students’ passion, their teachers’ dedication and the support they receive from parents.

According to art teacher, Jemma Sander, its important to them that they nurture creativity, cultivate talent and shape artists of tomorrow. “This honour motivates us to aim higher, explore new horizons, and ignite the passion of budding artists looking to leave their artistic imprint on the world.” She said their student didn’t just standout – they owned the spotlight as they embodied the values they cherish – passion for art, dedication to excellence, and a commitment to stand out in any crowd.
