Competing in their inaugural 7s tournament, the club showcased their talent and determination against established schools from Pretoria, having only been established six months prior.

Muller expressed pride in the club’s debut. “I think we are one of the first clubs in Johannesburg to play in a school tournament against the best Pretoria schools.”

The Warriors U11 and U12 teams participated on Saturday at Hoërskool Die Wilgers, with the event hosted by Laerskool Skuilkrans. The young athletes faced off against some of the top schools in Pretoria, including Laerskool Elarduspark, Laerskool Pretoria Oos, Laerskool Hennopspark, and Laerskool Anton van Wouw.

The U12 team excelled, securing victories in four out of their six matches, while the U11s also made a strong showing, winning three out of four matches.
“It was a great day of rugby for our boys. The day emphasised our goal as a club: to make each of our players the best they can be and to give them the opportunities to compete at the highest level against the best teams in South Africa.”

Despite having only one full training session before the tournament, Muller praised the adaptability of the coaching staff and the talent within the club.

“With so little preparation, it shows how well the coaches adapted to the situation and also the talented players we have in the club and the Lions province.”

Looking ahead, Muller expressed excitement about the club’s potential and future aspirations. “It’s thrilling to see how well they performed with limited preparation time. I have a big vision for the club, and this is only the beginning.”

The club is poised to continue building on their promising start, demonstrating that they are a force to be reckoned with in the rugby community.
