Kaizer Chiefs edge Wits Juniors U15 in GDL clash at Wits Marks Park
Central defensive midfielder Mpho Pitsa scored the only goal of the match as Kaizer Chiefs secured maximum points in their Gauteng Development League fixture.
Kaizer Chiefs claimed all three points after edging Wits Juniors U15 1–0 in their Gauteng Development League (GDL) match week 25 clash at Wits Marks Park on September 5.
The visitors struck the decisive blow in the 25th minute, when central defensive midfielder Mpho Pitsa found the back of the net to hand Chiefs a slender lead heading into the halftime break.

Aware that a result was within reach, Wits Juniors emerged after the interval with renewed purpose, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. Even though the home side created several promising opportunities, they lacked the finishing touch inside the six-yard box.
Chiefs, meanwhile, remained dangerous on the counterattack and threatened to double their advantage, with Noah Clark narrowly missing the target after meeting a low-driven cross from Zaki Ali.
Despite the second-half display by Wits, the Soweto giants held firm to secure victory and leave Marks Park with maximum points.
Wits Juniors U15 coach Nkululeko Ndaba praised his side’s resilience. “It was a good match against a very strong opponent. Chiefs are a well-organised side, but I’m proud of how the boys responded, especially in the second half.”

Ndaba admitted his team’s biggest challenge was converting chances in the attacking third.
“We created opportunities, but we didn’t score,” said Ndaba. “We need to improve our composure in the final third, our final pass and our finishing. Those are the areas we’ll continue working on at training.”
Although disappointed with the result, Ndaba remains optimistic about his team’s progress this season. “The boys are improving every week,” Ndaba added. “Since I came in during the second round, we’ve picked up some important wins and the performances have been getting better.”
Looking ahead, the coach believes consistency will be key if Wits hopes to climb into the league’s top eight before the season ends.
“We still have about 10 games left,” said Ndaba. “We need to put together a run of victories. If we keep working hard and continue improving, I believe the boys will finish the season strong.”
