Reflecting on years of Growing Champions’ growth
Growing Champions held a HOPE Thank you Tea gathering to celebrate and reflect on the time of impact and support throughout its 14 years.
For 14 years, Growing Champions (GC) has grown stronger through the support and unity among individuals who share a vision rooted in the values of compassion and innovation while embodying the motto: Be realistic. Plan for a miracle.

Their: Join the HOPE Thank You Tea, on March 1, was a time of reflection, connection, and impact.
We are a village of like-minded people, with shared vision and values, following God’s laws for life to the fullest, but our diversity is our gold. We’re also celebrating the diverse journeys that enrich our community, while witnessing the growth of our young champions, according to founder Samantha Toweel-Moore.
She stated that, together, they shared the joy of creating solutions for communities grappling with challenges such as hunger, illiteracy, domestic violence, bullying, and hate. “We took the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all community members who generously give of themselves to build hope. Our journey has shown God’s hand and divine provision to be proved beyond doubt.”
Toweel-Moore shared that her parents taught her that people are the most valuable entities on earth, and are worthy of respect and dignity, no matter their worldly status. “This wisdom has guided the mission of GC, fostering an environment where growth is encouraged, and every individual is seen as a champion.”

The path to success has not been without challenges though. Reflecting on the journey, Toweel-Moore noted: “Storms are a part of life. Shock and traumatic incidents are challenging, but the primary obstacle to progress is often the limits you set for yourself. Faith helps drive us forward.” This resilience is a cornerstone of the GC ethos.
Looking ahead, they are eager to increase their impact in Johannesburg. “Together, we can cultivate a thriving community where every individual has the chance to grow and contribute positively.
“As we move forward, we invite the community to join us in our mission to spread hope and foster lasting change. Together, we can build a brighter future for all.”
