Tragic house fire in Johannesburg claims four young lives
The Mayfair community has been devastated as four young children, under the age of two, have lost their lives in an early morning blaze.
A heartbreaking house fire in Mayfair has resulted in the tragic death of four young children, prompting a swift response from the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services. The incident was reported around 11:00 on May 19, with firefighters arriving to find the house engulfed in flames.

Despite their efforts to extinguish the fire and conduct search and rescue operations, the team recovered four young children, all aged two years or younger. Sadly, they were confirmed dead at the scene due to smoke inhalation, according to Gauteng EMS paramedics. It appears that a heating device, used before the fire started, may have been the cause of this devastating tragedy.
