One of the organisations that donated was Allianz Commercial South Africa. CEO Thusang Mahlangu shared how Sihle Mooi, the CEO of Hotel Hope, reached out via email. Recognising the urgent needs of the organisation, Mahlangu and his team presented the request to their Corporate Social Responsibility team, which focuses on youth and education.

“We realised that there was a great need for Hotel Hope, and we agreed to support them on Mandela Day as a starting point,” Mahlangu explained.

Quambush highlighted that you can see that with every donation, there is a heart in it. “For Mandela Day to become a day, where people can visit children’s homes freely, old age homes, crèches, is just such a wonderful way for them to interact directly. For me, this is very special.”
