“We came here to bless the elderly. They all seem to be very excited and couldn’t wait for us,” said event organiser Liz Jones.

She explained that they managed to hand out 33 blankets, each of which were made by the church’s knitting team. There to help the team of ladies were some the children that form part of the congregation. “They love to participate in such donations, and, thankfully, they were able to be part of it, since it is school holidays.”

Jones says being in aid of others should not just be limited to one day, as people have a need every day. “Where we can help, we do so. Throughout the year.”

To do so the church has adopted Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital (RMMCH). At least twice a year, they make deliveries to the hospital for the mothers and babies. Making care packages that also include blankets.

Their next drive is working towards the festive season, which includes being of service to the elderly in their community, as well as putting together care packages for mothers and babies of RMMCH.
