On its last night, principal Caryn Brinkley expressed how audiences spent those few nights: Basking in the sunshine, sequins, and spontaneous Greek Island dance numbers. “I don’t think anyone is quite ready to leave this island. It took a village to put on a production of this scale. Not just a village; a wildly talented, slightly sleep deprived group of legends to make this magic happen, and they’re all on the stage tonight.”

She touted the cast as sensational, saying they sang their hearts out and danced like no one was watching – except the 400 people in attendance – bringing every character to life with energy, humour, and heart. “Your commitment to your rehearsals, even when you had exams and when life got in the way, was phenomenal.” She added they proved that ABBA really is timeless.

Brinkley thanked the music, art, dance, and drama (MADD) departments for having outdone themselves, as it is due to their creativity, patience, and passion that this production was brought to life. “Thank you for giving so much of yourselves to this show, and thank you for making it unforgettable. We’re incredibly lucky to have each and every one of you.”

The principal also thanked the parents, who, she said, this production would have been impossible without, citing their late night pickups, support, and endurance of countless hours of Dancing Queen over the last few months.

Brinkley ended off by saying that school productions are more than just performances; they are a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and courage. “This one will be remembered as something truly special. So, to everyone involved, thank you for the music, the memories, and the magic.”
