Clive Maher, director of SPC Security, said that their units responded promptly after receiving the call about the house fire. When they arrived, the garage was heavily engulfed in flames. Access was initially hindered because the garage doors were locked and securely closed, forcing the team to break through to reach the fire.

“We began battling the blaze using garden hoses from the property before locating a fire hydrant on the pavement. They connected hoses to the hydrant and managed to bring the fire under control within 40 to 45 minutes.”

Maher noted that the double garage appeared to have been used as a living space.

Currently, teams are dampening down the area to prevent any flare-ups.
