Safer street in Melville the MSI way in 2026

Melville Security Initiative shares its objectives for the new year.

Making the community and its streets safer while driving down crime rates is what the Melville Security Initiative (MSI) aims to achieve in 2026.

According to Danny Nunes of MSI, the organisation hopes to work closely with its security partner, Beagle Watch, to continue reducing crime statistics and ensure that Melville, Richmond, and Auckland Park North remain safe places for people to work, play and live.

The initiative also encourages community members to embrace healthy habits and adopt safety-first practices.

As they step into the new year, MSI is grateful to have submitted the Safe Streets application, a project that proposes the installation of boom gates to enhance security, to the city.

They now await feedback and plan to continue pursuing the establishment of this project throughout the year.
