Ward 86 residents urged to make their voices heard at upcoming CPF meeting
Participation in the CPF meeting will allow residents to engage directly with SAPS, highlight pressing issues in their area, and help influence policing priorities based on lived experience in the sector.
Residents in Greymont and surrounding sectors are being encouraged to attend the upcoming Community Policing Forum (CPF) meeting, where key safety concerns and local crime trends will be placed under discussion.
Sector 4 manager for Ward 86, Sergeant Benneth Maluleke, higlighted that the meeting will focus on the formation of sub-sector forums, ongoing collaboration between role players, and crime patterns affecting the area. “Issues expected on the table include street robberies, burglaries, fraud, and the theft of motor vehicles, particularly incidents involving vehicles parked overnight on public streets. The CPF structure will also review broader safety concerns within the sector, with an emphasis on improving co-ordination between residents and policing authorities.”

Maluleke stated that the CPF platform remains a critical link between the community and SAPS, allowing residents to raise concerns directly and contribute to shaping local policing priorities. “This level of engagement is essential for identifying crime trends early and improving response strategies.”
He touched on the importance of residents that active involvement strengthens overall community safety. “Participation allows residents to engage directly with SAPS, highlight pressing issues in their area, and help influence policing priorities based on lived experience in the sector.”
Maluleke said attendance offers benefits beyond simply reporting crime incidents. While reporting remains essential, CPF meetings provide a space where patterns can be discussed collectively, enabling proactive responses rather than isolated case handling.
