A real rates rebate

These guys get so much bad publicity that I thought I’d add a positive note for balance.

When the bin inventory forms came around a while back, I discovered that I had been charged for two bins since moving into my present house four years ago, although I only have one.

Since I am an avid recycler, that bin only gets put out every second week.

I duly stated this error on the form and was completely taken by surprise to find on my next statement that my account had been credited with just over R4000.

I must admit that I kept this windfall story to myself just in case the amount was credited in error, but I have just had my latest statement and the credit is still there – alive and well.
