EMMARENTIA – Supersport United Soccer Schools host their World Cup for passionate players and spectators.

The action soccer arena at Marks Park pulsated with passionate energy from young football players, as Supersport United Soccer Schools held their Futbol de Salao World Cup.

Three centres, the Supersport Randburg, Supersport Kempton Park and Supersport Marks Park participated in the World Cup that saw players ranging from the age of six to 16, take to the field for ultimate glory. Supersport Marks Park won the day.
Coach Mike Hughes said all the players who participated were winners because Supersport United Soccer Schools focuses on development and the betterment of each player. He added that the success of the day was not just attributed to the great young talent on the field but also the supportive parents.

Director of Urban Sports, Pedro Tocha said that it was great to see such motivated young players.
The young footballers were spurred on by their parents who rallied behind them with every pass of the ball. The young sportsmen were each eager to make their mark on the field.
Though the day was a ‘World Cup’ event, coaches aimed to ensure that the spirit of this great sport was not clouded by who came out on top but rather that each player did their best.
Talented player, Nabil Eldidy said that his hopes are to one day play professionally for a big team. He managed to score a goal for his Randburg team and he was humbly proud to have done that for his team.
