Northcliff High climbers reach for their dreams
The six learners are doing all they can to participate on an international platform in South Korea.

Northcliff High School has a number of rock-climbing learners who have moved another step closer in their bid to participate internationally.

The Gauteng Rock Climbing Provincial Championships is an elite competition. Only the best athletes have been selected to climb in the official selection competition for the Youth World Competition in South Korea later this year.

Headmaster Walter Essex-Clark said the entire school body was behind the six successful climbers. Learners performed well in the categories of speed, bouldering, and lead climbing.

They will compete again in two weeks to see who makes it into the team for the championships.

The climbers participating are Janeel Makanjee, Louis Raubenheimer, Connor Thomas, Morgan Atkinson, Chris McGowan, and Michael McGowan.
