Tiaan is ECA’s swim champion

This was true for Estcourt Christian Academy’s (ECA’s) star swimmer, Tiaan Eden, who represented KZN at the SACSSA National Championship in Germiston, Johannesburg on March 3.

After many hours of training and dedication, he left for Johannesburg to embark on a journey he will not soon forget. Arriving at the national gala, spirits were high and the atmosphere was electric.
Tiaan was there to represent KZN in the 50m Freestyle race. Finally, the time came for him to line up for the race.
The excitement was overwhelming as the gun went and Tiaan dove into the water.

The swimmers were neck on neck the whole race. As the swimmers touched the side, the times appeared on the board. Tiaan improved his previous time by five seconds having swimming the race in 42 seconds.
His placing in the race was not yet known as there were a few heats for his age group. After waiting with anticipation, the winners of the race were announced. Tiaan was ecstatic as they called him forward to receive a medal for third place.
