Motor show picks up speed
The Blackrock and Supersonic Show Off Your Ride show is one of the most anticipated events on Newcastle’s social calendar.
Kicking off on August 1 at 9am, motoring enthusiasts can expect nothing but first-class entertainment.
“Newcastle residents have come to love the annual car show, which has been hosted in the region for the past seven years. With Blackrock’s experience as partner to this exciting event, this year promises to be just as exciting,” said Blackrock Marketing Manager Veneshrie Chetty.
This year’s show will be nothing short of spectacular, with South Africa’s top drifter, David Nel set to show off his skills.
The event will also feature a sound competition. Records broken here will be showcased on the DB Drags website.
The programme of events is as follows:
9am – Gates open.
9am to 3pm – Vehicle registration.
10am – Sound off.
10am – Crossfit.
12pm – Spin session.
12.30pm – Drift session.
2pm – Spin session.
2.30pm – Drift session.
3pm – ‘Show ‘n Shine’ judging.
4.30pm – Spin session.
5pm – Drift session.
Registration costs R150 per car, per category. The entrance fee for adults is R50, and R30 for children under the age of 13.
Delicious food, beverages, car gadgets and novelties will also be on sale. There will be entertainment for children from 11am to 5pm at the kids corner, so be sure to bring them along to enjoy the show!
