Approximately 55 suspected illegal Zimbabwean immigrants, including children, were found in Bhekuzulu this morning (Tuesday) after community members alerted authorities.

Public Safety officials and the South African Police Service (SAPS) responded swiftly, bringing the situation under control without any reported incidents.

Group taken for further processing

Quentin Brown, Patrol Coordinator for AfriForum, confirmed the incident and said the group was transported by bus tonight for further processing by the relevant authorities.

The group was first taken to a place of safety before being transported, with the bus scheduled to take them to the Zimbabwean Embassy.

Patrols continue in the area

Authorities have confirmed that all stakeholders remain on patrol in and around the area to ensure the continued safety and security of the community.
