The Ladysmith Show is now on!

It is like having our own Carnival City

Yesterday (Thursday)  saw the start of the 2014 Ladysmith Show. People were seen strolling around the grounds, looking at the many stalls on display and enjoying the sunny weather.

On stage, various schoolchildren wowed the crowd with their singing. The Hamilton Marimba Band was also on stage and showed off their amazing skills. The afternoon’s entertainment ended off with Nash Anruth from Ladysmith High School (LHS) doing some DJ mixes for show-goers.

Mayor Vincent  Madlala and uThukela Mayor Dudu Mazibuko, together with council speaker Zehra Rassool, were at the show grounds this morning (Friday) to hand out awards for the best stalls, watch more amazing children perform and do some shopping. They were pleased with the show and Mayor Madlala said, “It is like having our own Carnival City! The show is an event that  Ladysmith looks forward to every year.”

There is still loads more entertainment coming up, including BlackByrd, Bobby van Jaarsveld and Max My Ride! See you there!
