Warm sunshine, children’s laughter, a jovial atmosphere and tons to see and buy… This describes the Little Fighters Cancer Market held at the Methodist Church on Saturday and if you were there, you would probably agree that it was a ‘fantastical’ experience!

The craft market, is a fundraiser for the Little Fighters Cancer Trust, which provides support to children who have cancer and is organised by Sherlene Gericke with the help of volunteers.

A theme was selected for this year’s market and children were encouraged to dress in their favourite fantasy or storybook character.
It was a delight to see the little one’s all dressed up and the best dressed received prizes. The winners were Teagen Gillit and Aiden Oliver.

The children were also kept entertained with fun and games as well as a colouring-in competition. The adults could then feast their eyes of the great variety of stalls. There was everything from handmade jewellery, food, preserves, paintings, plants and much more.

Sherlene is overwhelmed by the support from the community and said that a total of R8 082.45 was raised for the trust. “Thank you to everyone, I appreciate your support,” she said.
