GALLERY: Frere residents receive food parcels from Gift of the Givers (video included)

100 families will be fed, thanks to a donation from the Gift of the Givers

It’s 36 degrees Celsius on a Saturday morning. The team from the Gift of the Givers is on their way to Frere.

This is their second distribution this morning and heat and bumpy roads have not hindered their easy-going spirit.

The team, headed by Estcourt representative Jaaved Khan, heads to the Frere Community Hall where members of the community who require assistance have been identified and have started to converge.

The dark green Gift of the Givers truck makes a stop in front of the hall and the doors are flung open.

Community members are delighted to see that they will be the recipients of generous food parcels consisting of soup packs and grocery items. After everyone is accounted for, the team distributed the food parcels to 100 residents.

“The Gift of the Givers provides relief to everyone, regardless of race, political affiliation or religion. Where there is a need, we will help where we can,” commented Mr Khan.
