10 entrants who came hungry were the centre of attention as they took their seats to see who could wolf down the most hot dogs in 10 minutes.

The competition seemed daunting.

During the first round of the competition, five entrants went head-to-head in two phases.

Senzo Mazibuko and Olwethu Sithole were crowned champions in their rounds and went onto the final.

Both men had to finish as many hot dogs as they could in five minutes. It was apparent from the looks on their faces that each bite was becoming more difficult.

With the crowd spurring them on, Senzo and Olwethu kept on chewing.

At the end, Senzo was declared the winner after he ate three hot dogs, compared to Olwethu’s two.

The prize is a R1 500 voucher from Eskort Limited, a shield declaring him the Estcourt winner and that it not all.
Senzo will now be entered into the regional competition where entrants from other parts of South Africa will meet for the ultimate Hot Dog Eating Competition.
