Young thespians display great talent

The festival drew on the youth from Newcastle, Estcourt, Glencoe and Ladysmith and they took to the stage with songs, speeches, dances and mini-plays.

With poise and flair, young thespians from the Newcastle Sub-Centre of the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa took to the stage in Estcourt recently, before a crowded and eager audience of family and friends.

It was time for the annual Northern KwaZulu-Natal Children’s Cultural Festival, and the onus was on the youngsters to make a meaningful impression on the audience.

The festival drew on the youth from Newcastle, Estcourt, Glencoe and Ladysmith and they took to the stage with songs, speeches, dances and mini-plays.

As anticipated, the NKZN Children’s Cultural Festival was a kaleidoscope of colour, spiritually educational and a proud moment for the parents in the audience.

Guest speakers included Revered Sri Swami Sumanasananda, who is the President of the Ramakrishna Centre of SA and Vice President, Swami Swatmaramananda.
