Annual dance showcase blows away the audience
What adds to the success of her showcases are the smiles and story-telling of the dancers in their respective genres
Nadine Pillay from Danceology is determined to rise to ever greater heights with her annual dance showcase. This year was no different, with the event taking place on Friday and Saturday evening. Dancers from a young age up to over 60 years old performed on stage. This year’s showcase was called ‘Rhythm and the Deep Blue Sea’ and there was certainly no shortage of rhythm, technically-difficult moves, and energy. That’s for sure! What adds to the success of her showcases are the smiles and story-telling of the dancers in their respective genres. An avid admirer wrote a letter to the Vryheid Herald about the showcase…
“CONGRATULATIONS TO DANCEOLOGY!
“Yet another fantastic production by Nadine Pillay and the Danceology team in their 2024 annual showcase, ‘Rhythm & the Deep Blue Sea’, over the weekend. I have two left feet and can only dream of trying to do some of the moves these guys did – from as young as five years old in the ‘Minions’, up to 82-year-old ‘Golden Girls’. It was pure entertainment of a high standard from start to finish and the quality of the dancing from every age group, especially the Competitive Team, was a tribute to the teaching skills and personality of Nadine Pillay as she inspires her pupils with that confidence to go the extra mile.
“Vryheid should be so proud to have such a professional team of dancers and performers on our doorstep. Although the attendance at the two concerts was good, it could have been so much better, as many residents in Vryheid are unaware that we have such talent. But we are aware that the amount and quality of entertainment in Vryheid leaves a lot to be desired, so next year’s Danceology showcase concert is a must-see for everyone in town.” – Geoff Silk
