Nine parkrunners celebrate personal bests at Vryheid event
Free fun, fitness, and friendly faces await every Saturday at Vryheid parkrun.
The best things in life are free! Open spaces, fresh air, walks in the park and plenty of friendly faces. That is what parkrun offers, and the best part is that it’s absolutely free of charge. Saturday’s top finisher was Mandla Mbisi, closely followed by Nhlanhla Ncube in second place. The first junior was Kusandokuhle Jiyane, with the first female being Nicky Williams.
You don’t have to be a parkrun enthusiast to live in Vryheid, but clearly it helps, since there were quite a few personal best times. These parkrunners have seemingly put in some extra training, judging by the nine personal bests. Congratulations to Kusandokuhle, Nicky, Malusi, Lwazi, Johann, Anthony, Siphokazi, Fundi and Trudie. Pakrun also welcomed nine first-timers and three visitors.
Anet Koegelenberg says, “If you didn’t manage to make it to parkrun on Saturday, that’s okay, because it will be on again this coming Saturday, at 08:00 as usual. Join the fun!”
