The recent KZN Wrestling Tournament drew strong participation from Richards Bay, Newcastle, Vryheid, Glencoe and Volksrust. Wrestlers faced tough opposition, needing to secure either a first or second place to qualify for the National Wrestling Championships in Pretoria, scheduled for October 8-11 across Freestyle, Greco Roman and Presidents categories.

With limited spots available, competition was fierce, but the local wrestlers rose to the occasion. From the youngest competitors to the oldest, each showed remarkable skill and determination to make their community proud.

Zander Paquot (NRS) U/9 Freestyle – gold, Presidents – silver;
Liané Paquot (NRS) U/11 Freestyle – gold, Presidents – gold;
Christiaan Smith (LMS) U/11 Freestyle – gold, Presidents – gold;
André Kotze (PHS) U/15 Greco Roman – gold, Presidents – gold.

The exceptional results reflect both talent and dedication, with some of the athletes proudly set to represent their schools and district at the national championships.
