Inkosi Langalibalele Netball Association elects new leadership

The new committee is expected to play a vital role in developing netball in Estcourt and taking it to another level.

The Inkosi Langalibalele Netball Association elected a new committee at its annual general meeting (AGM) held last week in the Town Hall.

The new leadership is expected to play a vital role in promoting and developing netball throughout the area.

The new committee members are:

Chairperson – Nkululeko Khumalo;

Deputy chairperson – Fikile Khumalo;

Secretary – Londeka Mlaba;

Demarcation – Mfundo Kubheka;

Selector – Londi Hlongwane;

Event organiser – Nokwanda Mlaba;

Umpire – Nomusa Njoko;

Coach – Ndula Mdakane;

Development officer – Nomonde Dladla.

The association currently runs a monthly netball league featuring U/17 and senior teams. A men’s netball division was also recently introduced, marking an exciting step towards inclusivity and growth in the sport.

Despite these positive strides, several challenges remain. During the AGM, some teams raised concerns about inadequate infrastructure – including lack of proper courts and goalposts. Addressing these issues will be a key priority for the new committee as they work closely with councillors and Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality to improve facilities and uplift the standard of netball in the region.
