Local Karateka to pack a national punch

Fifteen Dundee karateka from the local JKA Club have been selected to represent KZN in the National JKA Karate Championships in May. The selections were made at the recent Northern KZN JKA Karate Championships held in Newcastle where around 207 competitors participated.
From there, karateka has an opportunity to be selected for the All Africa JKZ Championships in Johannesburg in September. Sensei Vishen Bhoonpersadh said karate gives competitors an excellent chance to represent their country.
Both he and fellow black belt exponent, Trish Rajkumar, represented their country in 2015 and he is hoping that even more local karateka will also have that opportunity. Anyone interested in joining the sport can call Vishen at 071 410 9768.
