Dancers in world class coaching camp

Dancers from the Stepping Out Academy were given expert coaching in the latest techniques at a weekend camp attended by a world champion tumbler and his wife.
Marina de Beer of Stepping Out, said two years ago the Academy linked up with Tumble Mania to educate and train dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders with a ‘work and play’ attitude.
With Danie Haasbroek taking them through the paces (Danie is a former national tumbler and team coach who has won medals at world events and has 16 years’ experience working with professional dancers – presenter of a great number of local/international events and camps), the children enjoyed acrosport, acrotracks, rod floor, trampolines and camping all in a cosy farm atmosphere.

Danie was very impressed with the Stepping Out Academy and described the students as well behaved and disciplined.

Michelle, Danie’s wife, is an accredited instructor and coaches from juniors to adults in high-level tumbling and competition dancing. She herself is a former international tumbling champion and a seven-time SA national women’s champion.
Together they have organized camps and courses since 1987 and presented the 21st Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships (final Olympic qualifier) and the 14th World Age Group Games at Sun City.

“Marina’s hard work has certainly paid off.”
Marina said the 14 dancers who attended the camp worked very hard and she thanked the parents for supporting the children.
