Bloemveld Dam to provide unexpected relief

In an unexpected turn of events, water from Bloemveld Dam is currently entering the waterworks and may provide some relief from this afternoon.

According to André Van Der Walt, the recent rains have led to a slight increase in the water levels at Bloemveld Dam, and this may lead to a short term solution in restoring water to at least some households in Vryheid until the necessary repairs have been done to Klipfontein.

“The water will not last very long,” he adds, “but it should last until Klipfontein pump has been repaired. This is an absulute bonus as it was not expected that water can be utilised from Bloemveld.”
